ABOUT

Sharon Richter is an Assistant Professor at Appalachian State University. Previously, Sharon taught students with significant intellectual and multiple disabilities. Her research interests include identifying evidence-based practices for students with intellectual disabilities, secondary transition, and self-determination. 

Cate Smith is an Assistant Professor at Appalachian State University. She has worked with children, youth, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for the past 10 years. Her research interests include mobile technology to teach functional and academic skills, assistive technology, and promoting autonomy in learners with disabilities.
